Mako 35

This is the new and improved imperial service version of the wheeled ATV concept. It is the fifth such design in line to be adapted, but it is manufactures only in small quantities currently as pre-production series while working out the last bugs(primarily with the armament system)

It is powered by a nuclear plant to give it independence from fueling, has long term life support for the exploration crew, gravitic assist to keep ground pressure low, basic armament and self defense systems.

The choice of a wheeled vehicle over a grav vehicle for exploration roles comes from the need to be stable in hostile unexplored conditions.

Front:

• 1-2: Armor Diamondoid($200k)
• 3: Control room: C8 computer, comm/sensor 4, and one control station. ($20k)
• 4: Major battery: 40mm Gravitic rail gun+2000 shots.($2 mil)
• 5: smaller systems:
  • 0.05 Grav generator: negates up to 0.5g gravity to help maneuver on higher gravity planets and to lower ground pressure. ($75k)
  • 0.3 Air lock: 1 person (Hangar Bay:0.1 tons) ($300)
  • 0.1 coaxial+min turret heavy grav needlers with 40 000 shots each.($64k)
  • 0.05 thruster: 0.5g “jump jets” to help maneuver. ($6k)
  • 0.1: F-cell to give the 40mm railgun burst power to fire 200 shots. ($20k)
  • 0.3 force screen: High power, DR 207 (1.5/second regen) ($200k)
• 6: Cargo: 0.5 tons: normally carries a couple of Mobile Labs, a 8 man pressure tent to deploy a lab in, other exploration equipment and supplies like food.
• core: Super Fusion reactor. ($100k)

Middle:

• 1: Armor Diamondoid($100k)
• 2: Wheeled drivetrain with offroad option. ($30k)
• 3-core: Habitat: Bunk room ($150k)

Rear:

• 1: Armor Diamondoid($100k)
