This is an old revision of the document!
These are small paramilitary spacecraft built using a streamlined 300-ton (SM +7) hull. They are designed for local-space patrols, but can make interstellar voyages. A robot arm allows it to tow and work with damaged vessels and wayward satellites. It can blast straight into orbit from an Earth or Mars-sized world.
This light patrol ship was built in truly huge numbers and is now used by auxiliary imperial services and some noble services and other uses.
Originally a Nuclear Saltwater Rocket Engine local patrol ship, it was adapted to interstellar use by adding a reactionless engine and a FTL drive instead of some of the fuel tanks.
Currently most of the ships are in the reserve fleet(8 million+), but still almost 2 million are in some form of active duty.
The current plan is to phase all the active imperial use ones out of service within 8-10 years, other users have similar plans, though longer time spans for some.
Front Hull System
- [1] Metallic Laminate Armor (dDR 5).
- [2!] Major Battery (turret with 100 MJ laser).
- [3] Habitat (cabin, bunkroom).
- [4] Habitat (two sickbay beds).
- [5] Habitat (cell, five tons cargo).
- [6] Secondary Battery (two fixed 20cm missile launchers; 12 tons cargo).
- [core] Control Room (C5 computer, comm/sensor 5, three control stations).
Central Hull System
- [1] Metallic Laminate Armor (dDR 5).
- [2] Robot arm
- [3-5] Fuel Tanks (each with 15 tons of uraniumsaltwater fuel with 5 km/s delta-V).
- [6!] Reactionless engine (1G acceleration)
Rear Hull System
- [1] Metallic Laminate Armor (dDR 5).
- [2]Engine Room (one workspace).
- [3-4] Fission Power Plant (one Power Point)
- [5-6] Nuclear Saltwater Rocket Engines (2G acceleration each)
- [core!] FTL drive (FTL-1)
