Home World

Some of the special backgrounds specify the place you are from, in such use that.

World type

Else roll your home world type on one of the tables below.

Way more of the colonial and tertiary populations join rangers than other services, so as ranger(or patrol) you should use the following if you wish to simulate that:

  • 3 core
  • 4 colony
  • 5-6 tertiary
  • 7-10 primary
  • 11-15 secondary
  • 15-16 tertiary
  • 17-18 colony

Full empire population distribution, use this for other imperial services:

  • 3 core
  • 4 tertiary
  • 5-10 primary
  • 11-16 secondary
  • 17 tertiary
  • 18 colony

Home/background type. Select or roll:

  • 3 Gypsy: Lived childhood on a starship.
  • 4 Belter: Lived childhood on a mining or manufacturing facility on a belt.
  • 5: Closed facility: Lived childhood in a closed base but on a habitable planet, likely something like a mountaintop, desert or mid-jungle base.
  • 6: Uninhabitable place: Lived childhood in a closed base on a planet with non suitable atmosphere/no atmosphere.
  • 7-15: Normal planetary situation: Primary: City. Secondary: town/city. Tertiary: Small town. Colony: Wilds.

Find your home world and note the standard planet universal code (SPUC). Use the Starsystem database to find a suitable system. Sectors 1-174 have the primary systems, secondary, most tertiary systems and about half of the colonies are located in sectors 175-4000, few tertiary and most of the remaining colonies are in sectors 4001-8000.

Note that the system should have a Terrestrial planet for all primary and secondary systems and almost all others.
