Postal service
Basics
Uniform:Dark orange.
Mission: Deliver information and mail.
Personnel
Total personnel: about 70 million.
Wartime personnel: about 115 million after the activation of the mothball fleets.
Training
Use the Other/specialist training with Courier crews:normally one of the star ship packages as base. The extra training package is most often something technical.
Other personnel ranges from the large numbers of wire rats to manage the mail computers to postal investigators.
Deployment
Most of the personnel are in the service end, handling customer relations and such. About 20 million form the mail ship part, with about half of that being on the ships, quarter the support and quarter the switch crew for the ships.
Ranks
Has much less high ranking officers that the size of the service would indicate. The support teams are many members to a leader and as there are no ships larger than mail ships in service the need to have high ranking officers is lessened.
Equipment
Everyone in the mail ship part service has a personal vacsuit armor as uniform. Most have Nanoweave Vacc Suits. The others are either in a nanoweave suit.
Interaction
Postal service and everyone else:
- The postal service delivers he messages for everyone else in the imperial service, so there is a fair bit of interaction. They also control more than 99% of the non imperial interstellar message traffic, so they also interact with almost everyone else in the empire at some point.
